The GRSC board wanted to update everyone on where things stand with the Spring soccer season and the current COVID-19 situation.
As of today MYSA has suspended all soccer operations until April 15th. They will be reassessing the situation on April 1st and providing us with further details as they become available. The Black and Blue league schedules which were due to be out last Friday have been put on hold pending the current situations. The Great River Indoor facility will remain closed until further notice.
We want to remind everyone of the current recommendations on Social Distancing. Do not have gatherings of more than 10 people and when in a social setting remain at a safe 6 foot distance from others. It is recommended that you stay out of social gatherings all together but if need be follow the safety guidelines that have been put out by the Minnesota Dept. of health and CDC.
We would like to remind the players to practice individually as much as possible to keep their skills tuned up while we wait for the season to start. We will also be sending some links out that have some practice drills and things the players can do to continue to improve their skills while we wait for the season to start up again. We recommend that players not gather together and practice with each other, they should be practicing the social gathering recommendations as well.
While we are sure that players are anxious to get back to soccer, the health and safety of all of our players and their families is of primary concern. We will follow and encourage others to follow the guidelines published by the Minnesota Dept. of Health.
We will continue to send you updates as they become available. In the meantime, stay healthy and practice the social distancing skills that have been outlined by health professionals. It takes everyone's participation in these practices to help stop the spread of the COVID-19.
